Bloodwork 02:54
Don’t stick me don’t plick me I don’t care how it quick be I need no needle into my vein My level is level It’s perfectly clear I’m level I need no metal into my brain Put that away or I’ll run away Put that away no blood count today I take my lithium daily No relapse, or maybe Take my word, not my blood, take my word No more upsetting, no more bloodletting Put that away or I’ll run away Put that away or I’ll put you away I tried to tell him I didn’t need any help I tried to tell him I could handle myself I tried to tell him I couldn’t stand the sight of blood I can’t stand to see my blood No more upsetting, no more bloodletting

Well, actually, I prefer Guinness especially because it’s black Seems the appropriate value to wash down my Prozac Lately I been drinkin about my thinking and only one thing comes to mind Breweries make a killing off me from filling their bottles with my lonely time If you give me a cigarette one day I’ll die for you Because I haven’t been living yet and you have two/too Oh, but I’m much too drunk to be honest, believe me But whatever you do, my darling, please don’t ever believe me FM So, she wouldn’t let me come inside but she wouldn’t let me out of the car She said it was crazy, but not too crazy but she wouldn’t let me out of the car No, nothing, nothing really happened You can’t go very far in a car And she knew that, Just goes to show You can’t go very far in a bar FM She invite, he polite, lovely night She flash tail, he impale, all in spite Well I don’t think I’ll call her back, too much to do about nothing to do with me Sometimes I think we’ve all been touched, at least accidentally Must be an integral part of the Female experience Must be an integral part of the Male experience And the odds are against our ever getting it right FM

Well hey there, boy. What you drinkin’? My name’s Mary. Let’s have a stroll, shall we? To the park. We’ll hop on this thing and we’ll swing, and we’ll swing, and we’ll swing and we’ll jump right off it Been ages and then since I’ve been where we’re in and again I will spin and we’ll jump right off it We’ll both fit in the swing and the slide And then begin to swing and to slide One, two, three green light and one, two, three Yellow Oh, let’s play another game, shall we? Let’s play tag. You’re it. We’ll hop on this thing and we’ll swing, and we’ll swing, and we’ll No Kissing Been ages and then since I’ve been where we’re in and again I will spin and we’ll No Kissing Are you positive That you’re negative Because it’s very negative unless you are positive that you are negative and not positive Oh, you don’t have to wear that Well, not for my sake You can’t get it from a girl anyway Oh, and I’m not really lesbian I mean I like boys, too It’s either go like this or do something really stupid Like step out in front of a car Mary, do you go round?

Girl: (sung) He's a cute one, he's a mothers son, not a lowly one He's not like the others, I'm sure Such a fine wine in the winter time, He will care for mine He's not like the others, I'm sure Guy: She hasn't said anything But she’s all over… I don’t, I don’t, I don’t know Girl: (sung) You're a cute one, You're a mothers son, touch me here You're a moral one, not a lowly one, touch me here You will care for mine, touch me here But the last one cut out my tongue, cut out my tongue, cut out my tongue Please, no Guy: I’ve never felt this way about anyone before You are so beautiful, this is so beautiful I’ve never felt so, never been so Close Girl: (spoken, on recording but should be sung) Don’t talk. Don’t talk. Don’t say a word. Don’t talk. Don’t talk. Don’t talk. Don’t say a word. Don’t say anything. Don’t talk. Maybe he’ll just go. Maybe he’ll just go. Don’t say anything. Don’t talk. Don’t talk. Guy: (spoken) Hey, wait! Where are you going? What’s wrong? Through bloody winters I live Through bloody winters I live These are the winters again Through bloody winters I live

Welcome to the beaches of Tel Aviv Where we wear our hair as we believe And every half an hour those choppers chop, chop, chop by Israel’s New York Free labor sleeps on the roof and on the floor Waiting to be shoveled off to a Dead Sea shore Vocal sound of a Siren Hottest thing I’ve ever seen barefoot girl in fatigues of green ‘bout eighteen, swingin’ an M-16 and eating ice cream Serving her three years like all the rest Her shirt open to the hollow of her breast I wanted to grab her and say “I detest the things that you do, my dear” Vocal sound of a Siren You! You! You! Get your hands off my gun! You! You! You! Get your hands off my gun! IDF! IDF! IDF! Get your hands off my gun! It takes just three short minutes! To send a bomb over your mothers! To send a bomb over your daughters! And lay waste to your children!

about

Jebel, a Columbia, South Carolina-based band, was most active from 1993 to 1997 releasing two recordings, including their self-titled CD in ’96.

In 1995 Jebel recorded six tracks with Jay Matheson at his Jam Room Studios in Columbia, SC. The recording was never released due to technical problems and the self-titled CD was released instead, which which consisted mostly of the audio portion of a live performance that was aired on a Time Warner Cable TV program. Now, through the modern miracles of ones & zeroes, the recording has been restored and is now available to the public, a mere 17 years after they were created.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Jebel’s Broken Record.
